Using Shopify POS offline
Shopify POS needs an internet connection to sync with your Shopify admin, send receipts by email, and capture card payments. The internet connection can be made using a Wi-Fi network or cellular data.
If you lose your internet connection or you're selling from a location without internet access, then you can still make sales using Shopify POS offline features:
- Accept cash and manual payments offline: Offline checkout lets you accept cash and manual payments without an internet connection. This feature is available to all Shopify POS users.
- Accept card payments offline: Offline payments extends offline checkout to accept credit and debit card payments. You need to activate this feature in your Shopify admin.
