Viewing and exporting your Shopify Payments payout details

The Payouts page of your Shopify admin displays your previous payouts, any scheduled payouts, and the Payout balance amount. The Payout balance amount represents the funds that have been captured but not yet added to a scheduled payout, not including reserved funds. You can also export your transactions as a CSV file to view the total fees for each payout and pending transaction.

View your payouts

You can view your scheduled payouts, payout balance, and previous payouts from the Shopify admin. Payments are synced with their orders. This makes it easy to review the amount of funds that you receive for an individual order.

Desktop

From your Shopify admin, go to Finance.
In the Payouts section, click View payouts.

Mobile

From the Shopify app, tap the icon.
Tap Finance.
In the Payouts section, tap View payouts.

Filtering transactions

You can use the following filters to review your transactions:

Transaction type: Filter by specific transaction types.
Payout status: View transactions by their payout status.
Payment method: Filter by payment method used.
Credit card: Filter by specific credit card types.
Transaction date: Filter by date range when transactions occurred.
Payout date: Filter by when transactions were paid out.
Currency: Filter by transaction currency.

You can save filtered searches for future use. For example, you can create a saved view that displays only transactions in CAD currency, which is useful if you're selling in multiple currencies.

Multi-currency payout behavior

When multi-currency payouts are enabled, the transaction view and payout details display different information. Review the following considerations before viewing your multi-currency payout information:

Each currency has separate payout groupings.
Transaction filtering includes currency-specific options.
Export functionality respects currency-based filtering.
Payout schedules might vary by currency.

This ensures clear separation and tracking of transactions across different currencies in your store.

Payout status

The All payouts section of the Payouts page lists all of your payouts and their current status:

This table outlines the different payout statuses and provides a description for each status.
Status	Description
Scheduled	The payout is in the process of being sent to your bank account.
Deposited	The payout was sent to your bank. This doesn't mean that you have the funds in your bank account. Your bank might still need to process and deposit the funds into your account, which typically takes between 1-3 business days depending on your bank.
Failed	Your bank failed to successfully process the payout, and the funds weren't deposited. You should follow the prompts in your Shopify admin to learn about next steps.
Withdrawn	The withdrawal request was sent to your bank. This doesn't mean that the funds have been removed from your bank account. Your bank might still need to process the request, which typically takes between 1-3 business days depending on your bank. This status only applies in regions where Shopify Payments debits negative balances.

View a specific payout

You can navigate to the Finance > Payouts page of your Shopify admin to review the details of a specific payout by clicking the Payout date in the Payout transactions table.

The Overview section displays the following information about the payout:

The total amount of the payout.
The payout status.
The bank account that the payout is transferring to.
The transfer reference number (where available).
A breakdown of the charges, refunds, adjustments, and reserves.

The Transactions section shows the details of each transaction included in the payout.

For more information about the status of a specific payout, you can reach out to the bank connected to your Shopify Payments account and provide them with the payout's transfer reference number.

View all transactions

Clicking View order transactions on the Payouts page lists all transactions associated with all of your payouts.

Transactions share the same status as payouts with the addition of the Pending status. Transactions marked as Pending are for sales that you've made, but that haven't been added to a payout and sent to your bank account yet. The Payout Date for pending transactions is an estimate only.

Export your transactions

The total fees for each payout and pending transaction are displayed in the Transactions table. You can export your transactions to a CSV file.

Steps:

From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
Click View payouts.
Click View Transactions.
Click Export.
Select the range of transactions that you want to export and the type of CSV file, and then click Export balance transactions.

The CSV file contains the following information:

Shopify Payments payouts CSV file columns and descriptions
Transaction Date	The date and time that the transaction occurred, including the time zone. Example: `2017-06-20 11:26:40 -0400`
Type	The type of transaction. Example: `adjustment` or `refund`
Order	The number associated with the order.
Card Brand	The type of card used for the transaction. Example: `visa`
Card Source	The method by which the card was charged. Example: `swiped`
Payout Status	The payout status of the transaction. Example: `pending`
Payout Date	The date of the payout.
Available On	The date that the payout will be available.
Amount	The amount of the transaction.
Fee	The fee applied to the transaction.
Net	The difference between the amount and the fee.
