Using gift cards with Shopify POS
Gift cards give your customers the opportunity to share their love for your brand with others, and provide a flexible payment option that works both in person and online. With Shopify POS, you can manage the complete gift card lifecycle at your retail locations, from selling new cards to accepting them as payment.
You can sell both digital and physical gift cards using Shopify POS. Digital gift cards can be emailed to customers or printed from your receipt printer, whereas physical gift cards are pre-made plastic cards with unique codes that you scan at the time of purchase. Your customers can use gift cards to make purchases from your store at any location or through your online store, and the balance automatically updates across all sales channels.
Use Shopify POS to redeem gift cards as payment by scanning the card's barcode or entering the code manually. You can also process refunds back to gift cards when customers return items, and issue replacement cards if a customer loses their original gift card. Before you start using gift cards, you need to activate gift cards as a payment method in your Shopify POS app settings.
